And Now The Final Four

The High Excitement Generated By Last Year’s Final Four In Istanbul Is Revving Up Again This Year For The Turkish Airlines Euroleague Matches To Be Played October 12 And 13.

All bets are on for the final four in the league that, this season as last, includes three Turkish teams. The Turkish teams have seen a busy round of transfers in the runup to the final.

Beşiktaş, which captured three cups last season (the Beko Basketball League Championship, the Turkish Cup and the FIBA EuroChallenge Cup), lost a number of its stars at season’s end, most notably Trainer Ergin Ataman. Reaching an agreement with Cholet Basket’s successful coach, Erman Kunter, the club has also reinforced its roster with players like Tutku Açık, Cevher Özden and Vladimir Dašić. Eager to make it into the final four, which it has narrowly missed for years, Anadolu Efes, led by Oktay Mahmudi, hopes to achieve this goal with new players like Jordan Farmar.

Meanwhile Fenerbahçe Ülker, which did not have successful season last year, has contracted with Montepaschi Siena’s hotshot coach, Simone Pianigiani. Later, it made news with the transfer of players like Bo McCalebb, Romain Sato and İlkan Karaman.
